Q: How do you advertise your story/stories?

5

A: I don't advertise on Wattpad, since it's not my primary platform, but on Figment I rely on word of mouth or swaps to get my stories out there.

Q: How has writing changed for you with the use of internet or other online means (in relation to writing)?

7

A: I've improved by leaps and bounds. Having other eyes look at my work and catch things I can't makes me more aware of things I need to improve and, in turn, helps me improve my writing in ways I didn't even know needed improving.

A: I don't even remember, other than that it was through Figment!

8

Q (optional): How did you meet me/Rachel?

Q: Any other things you would like to add?

9

A: Not really! Thanks for reaching out to me :)

A: I love the support system, but I don't like how some people are only out there to read people's work because they expect something in return.

Q: What do you like and dislike about online writing site(s)?

Q: What do you like and dislike about online writing site(s)?

4

A: Well, I guess I'm miiiiildly concerned about plagiarism.

But the sites protect people from that so it's kind of an irrational concern.

However, what I like about it… That's basically an endless list. I love how anyone from around the world can read your story and how much you can learn from different cultures when you take the minute to talk to them.

I also love how close you can become with fellow writers. Having friends who write and understand you is really great; they not only understand you but they can really help your writing improve.

And then of course, I absolutely looooveee how you can watch how everyone reacts to the things you’ve written - how people actually seem to enjoy the crazy things that run through your admittedly insane brain.

It's an amazing feeling that’s responsible for my giddy dance every other day. It's just all around great and I love it.

A: I only really use Wattpad and Figment, but I know there's a few others out there if you look!

3

Q: What online writing sites are you familiar with?

A: I love it! It gives me so much motivation to finish what I’ve started and it has definitely helped improve my writing tremendously over the years. Without my readers support and help, I would still be writing like an uneducated fourth grader ahaha.

Q: Do you like posting your stories online?

2

Q: Have you posted anything online? How many?

A: Yes, quite a lot actually. I post all of my future book ideas so there's about forty-something in total. But I'm only really working on about four for the moment.

1

A: I just ask people on Wattpad to check out my story. The more supporters you get the less you have to advertise since people add it to their reading lists that other people can see.. It's sort of like a dominos effect. As long as you update regularly and people like your stuff, you’ll get more and more readers everyday.

Q: How do you advertise your story/stories?

Q: Do you feel that your writing has changed with the use of online writing sites, like Figment or Wattpad? If yes, how?

6

A: Oh my goodness, YES. I was just horrendous when I first started out.

In just two months I had improved so much, it looked like two different people wrote on the account.  And since then I’ve kept on improving. And honestly with everything, spelling, sentence structure, choice of words, punctuation, grammar, tenses…need I go on?

As bad as it sounds, school taught me next to nothing compared to what I've learned on Figment and Wattpad. But I still have a ways to go!

A: I’ve been writing my whole life but it was never something I took seriously.

I would just write little stories (granted, they were absolutely terrible and I cringe to call them actual stories) and sometimes I’d get a close friend or a family member to read it over. But besides that it was kind of my little secret.

I suppose in a way it still is, but I'm definitely a whole lot more open about it now. Writing online has definitely made me proud of my work, which in return has made me try harder to perfect it.

I remember how two months after I started writing online that there was just this feeling that can only be described as a ‘click’. It was like it all clicked together. I never felt something so right… Like, writing was it for me.

I would have never experienced that feeling if I didn’t try the online thing. It's the reason why I fell in love with writing.

7

Q: How has writing changed for you with the use of internet or other online means (in relation to writing)?

Q (optional): How did you meet me/Rachel?

8

A: On Figment! One of my first writing friends and she's definitely my closest. (I don't threaten to kidnap the sun for just anyone)

A: RaeRae is the bestest writing buddy ever. So like hit her up because she knows what she's doing. And definitely make sure you check out her book ‘Dreams That Mask The Shadows’ BECAUSE IT IS THE MOST AMAZING BOOK EVER.

Honestly, she's a phenomenal writer that I look up to.
