My main worry of posting my book cover art online was that I feel like I somehow was “stealing” someone else’s work.

I used to find many of my pictures on Google. And I rarely searched for who the owner of the picture was since so many things are posted and then reposted over and over (perfect example would be Tumblr.)

Now, I’ve become more aware of the pictures I am using because I want them to mean something. I like using sites like Pixabay.com and sometimes, Splitshire.com or Pexels.com, to find pictures that I can now use for book covers that are free of copyright.

I’ve accepted that I do not really own any of my edits on pictures, but they are fun to make. I don’t make book covers to get credit for them, I make them because they are fun. They are just another way of portraying a story. Many times, pictures help enhance a novel and that’s what I am interested in.
